Tropical Hawaiian Waterfall
Tourist Trap!

Nancy and I spent a day driving around the island to see the
"sights" on the Big Island. One of the items on the list
to see was a waterfall. And for $7.00, we got to see a waterfall and a
rainforest. We could have spent some time in the botanical garden as
well, but the rainforest portion of the tour made us decide to just move on.
The Waterfall
This is pretty much the money shot.
The Waterfall and Valley
This shot gives you more of a feeling of the lush green surroundings. How
pristine!
Nancy at the Waterfall
Okay, the metal barrier starts to ruin that whole "pristine" idea.
Waterfall Parking
This portion is nicely paved. There is our red Camaro.
Waterfall Reverse View
This is looking away from the waterfall. That big body of water would be
the Pacific Ocean.
The Rainforest Stream
Pretty much downstream from the waterfall, a two for one attraction.
Deeper in the Rainforest
The flora gets a little more dense.
Nancy at the End of the trail
The rainforest was about 100 yards long. At the end, you turn around and
walk back.
Registration Office
This is where you pay your $7.00, get your little map, and pick up your
complimentary can of Guava Nectar.
Tourist Trap Kitten
There was a litter of kittens running around the registration desk for the
waterfall. Well, some were running, others were resting.
Another Kitty
In fact, I think all but one were sacked out. The wakeful one was off
chasing a mongoose.
