Disney Vacation Part II - Walt Disney Cruise
(To simplify things, everybody is referred to from Madeleine's
point of view.)
After three days at Walt Disney World we got on a bus and
headed to Port Canaveral to take a four night cruise on the Disney Wonder.
Donald Duck Welcomes us to the Disney Cruise embarkation facilities.
Mom, Madeleine, and Dad at the check-in point. Disney tries to work that
mouse-ears motif in where ever they can!
Aunt Jane, Grandma Emily, Aunt Ann, and Mom on the steps inside the ship.
Cousins Kayla and Jack!
Mom and Madeleine enjoying breakfast on the ship.
Dad pondering a statue of Queen Victoria during our stop at Nassau in the
Bahamas.
Madeleine checks out the internet facilities aboard ship.
Mom and Madeleine working on a kite, one of the many kids projects on the ship.
Madeleine gets up on stage to perform while the rest of us continue with kite
making.
Cousin Kayla with Cinderella and Prince Charming.
Cousin Lauren in her Snow White princess costume with Kayla.
Kayla and Lauren posing.
Madeleine in the porthole of our stateroom.
On shore at Castaway Cay, the Disney run island. We could have spent the
whole cruise here.
What would be an eyesore at any dockside in the world is happy and festive on
the Disney island!
Uncle David and... uh... well... Uncle David on the beach at Castaway Cay.
Madeleine and Dad enjoying the lunch they served.
The beautiful beach. Look how far out those people are; nice,
shallow, warm water.
The airplane on Castaway Cay. I included it because it shows up on the
brochures and some of the collectible pins.
Somebody will accuse me of scanning a postcard with this picture, but this
beautiful shot was taken by Nancy.
Everybody at Dinner! From the lower left: Cousin Lauren, Grandma Emily,
Grandpa Paul, Aunt Jane, Uncle Kelly, Uncle David, other Uncle David, Mom,
Madeleine, Dad, Aunt Ann, Cousin Jack, and Cousin Kayla up front.
Madeleine and Dad on deck playing in the colored lights.
More of those ears.
Hanging out in one of the lounges, Grandpa Paul and the Davids.
Madeleine with Jen at Flouder's Reef, the babysitting service that Disney offers
aboard ship for children under age 4 who are not yet potty trained. Potty
training is the key for kids if they want to be able to do all the activities
aboard ship.
Madeleine enjoying ice cream up on deck after a splash in the pool.
Madeleine making friends. Her 2 1/2 year old vocabulary isn't impressing
him I think.
The cabin staff like to fold up your towels as cute little animals.
They come up with a new animal every night. (I wonder if they know seven animals
for the seven night cruise?)
Madeleine with the towel rabbit. She looks very happy, but I think that is
because she has spotted the chocolate.
Uncle Kelly and Aunt Ann.
Mom and Dad.
The queue to get off the ship. That is Dad in the red shirt pushing
Madeleine in a stroller. Getting off, getting our luggage, and getting
through customs was a breeze.
Lauren, Madeleine, Jack, and Kayla behaving themselves for the moment at the
airport in Orlando.
Dad, Madeleine, and Grandpa wait for the flight.
And after a long flight, a stop over in Chicago, and an even longer flight,
we're back home in San Jose.
