ComputerWare The Macsource

Salesperson - August 1991 to August 1992

When I got laid off from Jasmine Technologies I needed a job, but didn't have quite the skill set to get a high tech job, plus I was still going to college.  So I applied at ComputerWare, the only Mac-Only computer store chain that I know of currently.

Or, rather, knew of.  On April 3, 2001, ComputerWare announced that it would be closing its doors forever.  Their web site was blank and all of the stores, except for the Sunnyvale store, were shut up tight.  After 17 years, it was truly the end of an era.

While I only worked at ComputerWare for a year, before I joined the migration to Global Village, I was a customer from before I purchased my first Mac in 1987 (I owned Mac software before I owned a Mac, what a geek!) to less than a month ago when I bought a USB KVM switchbox.  ComputerWare was a unique chain of stores and it will be sorely missed by many.
