This present, from Aunt Renate, was probably the one Madeleine was most involved with when it came to unwrapping.

It turned out to be a soft toy car dashboard, with horns, a steering wheel, a key, and a bright red shift knob that Madeleine kept trying to take a bite out of.

Pretty soon it was time to put Madeleine in her jammies and put her to bed.  But before she went down, she got to open a few more presents, including a Christmas book.
